40 Pounds Lost: This is a short story of my journey

WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
It was 1 year ago when I was sixteen. The time when I went to high school, and didn’t have that perfect body. A few friends of mine had that body and when they talked about their sixpacks and so on, I knew that I was fat.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
It affected my quality of life very bad. I didn’t fit in with my friends and I was always so depressed because of the fatness I had in my body.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
As I said before, I didn’t fit in and I wasn’t happy with myself. So I knew that I needed a change.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I fixed one year membership card at a gym that’s pretty close to where I live, and that’s when I got started.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
After like 3-5 months, I started noticing my stomach size getting less. And even my legs and especially my face.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I didn’t like exercise for some reasons, I did play football when I was at 4th grade to 6th grade, but then it got bored and I didn’t do anything more than play games and eat junk food. My family was there to support me.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Yes, I did. A few times. But my brother who’s a bodybuilder always had my back and helped me up whenever I was down. He said patience is key, and time will come. Just keep going. And that’s what made me keep going on and chase my dream body.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Nope, I didn’t went through that.(I don’t understand the question so well).
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
For about 8 months it took me to see the best results.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I no longer eat junk food, nor do I eat candy. I eat 3-4 times a day, make sure it’s protein in it and not so much fat. When I was much heavier, I was eating junk food everyday, especially when I was playing games because I always had something next to me. Like candy or coca cola. But nowadays I drink cola zero instead.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Much better, leaner. I feel so much happier.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Be ready for people pushing you down, and you need to keep in mind that there will always be people who will do that. All you gotta do is keep moving forward and chase your dream.
- Always keep your head up.
- Believe in yourself.
- Whatever you want to achieve, make sure to go for it.
