WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I’ve been chubby my whole life, ever since I can remember.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I could never find cute clothes, cute bras were definitely out of the question.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
When my friend took a picture of her and I together I couldn’t believe how big I was, I was in shock.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I decided to make an appointment with my doctor and get blood test and vitamin test done to see what I was lacking in my body.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started to see changes first in my face which took about three weeks.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
My main challenges were trying to overcome going to school full time, working full time and making time for meal preps and going to the gym every night. It was hard, but I made time for everything.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Plenty of times I wanted to give, literally thought I can’t keep doing this. I followed a lot of weight loss transformation pages on Instagram and I would go look and keep telling myself I’ll be like them one day.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I got stuck at a pleteau when I hit 180 pounds, and it was extremely frustrating. I decided to have a cheat day or two in a row and skip the gym a few days, after that I got back onto my routine and it jump started my weight loss backup. I also changed my workout in the gym a little.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It took me little less than four months to lose most of my weight. I still have thirty more pounds I’m trying to lose.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
Some of my non-scale victories would have to be doing two miles on the stair master without stopping, before I could not go longer than five minutes.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
My daily diet has changed dramatically! When I was heavier my diet was ALL fast-food. Every single meal I would scarf down burgers, fries, fried chicken, extremely unhealthy food. Now, my diet consist of only protein, veggies and some fruits.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
My physical activity is so much better now, I don’t feel out of breath like I use to, my stamina has improved a hundred percent.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Don’t follow a “weight loss program” I honestly think those are stupid, it’s all about eating right and being active.
- Drink lots of water!
- Plenty of sleep.
- Do not go to the gym every single day! Your body needs breaks and I made a big mistake by doing that. Going every single day made me hit a plateau, having off days is okay!
- Don’t compete with other people! The competition is within yourself.
