WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I have been dealing with my weight my entire life.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I always got self conscious everywhere I went. It was difficult to enjoy going out and doing fun things in life without worrying about what people thought about me.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
There were a lot of things actually, but what really set it off was being at Kings island and barley being able to get the latches to click on the rides.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I joined a gym and my family and I all decided to start making healthier food choices.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
About after the first month and a half.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had become so strict on counting my macros and limiting my portions, I had developed a binge eating disorder which lead to bulimia.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
yes all the time. I couldn’t stand the thought of having to live miserable in my own skin.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
yes around the 4 month mark. I just kept going and tried switching up my workouts and eventually the weight started coming off again.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I started at a size 16 now I wear a size 10
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
my daily diet now looks a lot more green and grilled haha. I now like eating my chicken and veggies and my stomach is a lot smaller so my portion size is a lot smaller too. My diet completely consisted of junk food and tons of it.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I use to lay around and watch Netflix for hours on end every day and now I can barely sit still for longer than 10 minutes
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- think of it as a lifestyle change not a diet
- don’t restrict yourself. eat in moderation
- water! water! water!
- you didn’t gain it all in one day and you won’t lose it all in one day either.
- it’s never too late to change.
