WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I’ve always been overweight, even as a child. Things got really bad for me about four years ago when I stopped working out and ate everything in sight. I was extremely depressed and never slept, which also contributed to my weight gain.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My weight affected everything I did. It ruined relationships, I never went out, I hated the way I looked and I felt terrible about myself.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I was going to school for law enforcement and I knew that I needed to get in shape. I was also on my billionth failed relationship and I knew that if I ever wanted the partner that I deserted, I would have to make myself the best me I could be.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I hired a trainer and he designed a meal plan and workout routine for me!
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I saw results right away, but quickly stopped once my body became used to everything.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had to overcome trying to eat healthy while being a vegetarian. It’s so hard to get the right nutrients and protein in when most of that comes from meat. I also am not a huge veggie eater and that was a big downfall for me.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I wanted to give up all the time, I still do to this day. I knew that I could do better for myself, and that’s what keeps me going.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I hit them all the time, I’m currently on a plateau right now.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
About one year
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
My diet is totally planned and I know what I need to eat. When I was the old me, I ate all the time. Ate out all the time, ate junk food, carbs galore and sweets galore.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I work out every day now! I usually work out at home right when I wake up, which is so great for my busy schedule.

- Have someone hold you accountable.
- Hold yourself accountable for a better future.
- Be the best you can be.
- Even if you only lose half a pound a week, that’s still 26 pounds a year!
- Make a list of the reasons why you want to be healthy, those are what will get you through it.
