WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?

I have been struggling with my weight since I was about 5 years old. All of my adult life I have struggled with my weight!

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I tried not to let my weight control my life. There were some things I wasn’t able to do that I wanted though. Like ride a certain ride at the amusement park or sit a certain place because I was afraid I wouldn’t fit.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My children. I have 3 beautiful babies and I have to get healthy not only for me but for them!

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I have been up and down in weight my whole life. I truly started in March of this year.

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
A week!

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I have to overcome my dislike of all things cardio lol! Make myself workout! Not binge eat!

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Of course! And my babies keep me going!

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I try not to go by the scale or let it define me! I go by how I feel. I hit a wall for a bit but just kept pushing!

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I still have over 150 to lose! It’s taken me 4 months to lose 39 pounds. I hope to lose another 30 before the end of the year!

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
Yes! Clothes fitting looser! My belly not touching the steering wheel anymore!

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I try and incorporate more veggies and keep lean meats and some fruits in my diet now

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I don’t get out of breath as fast!

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. You are beautiful! No matter what step in your journey you are in!
  2. Keep pushing! Never give up!
  3. If you have one bad meal don’t let it ruin your whole day!
  4. Do it for you! Do it to feel better and take your life back!
  5. Love yourself!!
