WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?

I have always battled with my weight but it wasn’t up untill 2 years ago that it got really bad FAST

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I was always tired, didn’t have energy to do much, it was getting in the way of my career as a photographer, standing shooting weddings for 8-10 hours would be torture for me and I would even cry sometimes on my way home because of how my weight effected my job and what I love. It was effecting the way I looked and thought about myself I was hating the person I was becoming and I hated to look in the mirror I wanted to cry sometimes not even look in the mirror I didn’t want anyone taking full body pictures of me but sometimes it was unavoidable.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
Relazing how sad I was and that I didn’t want to be there anymore I just wanted to happy again, and a doctors visit that changed my whole perspective on life, allowing me to realize that my life was on the line and it was time to take action.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I asked my friend at work who is a health freak to help me and guide me through this for the past 5 months he’s been training me on healthy eating and working out everyday. The first month was hard but now I LOVE the gym

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
4 months and I’m just getting started I still have about 50 pounds more to shed and I’m ready to take them on!

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
Working out was the hardest for me I refused to step in the gym but with a good support system I got in there and knew that this was what was going to help me even more to get me going

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Of course many times! I cried because I was not seeing results, what helped me through it was motivational YouTube videos I can’t explain enough how those videos helped me get through my work outs! I worked out to them and I still do I listen to them on the way to the gym and in the mornings, it keeps me headed in the right direction

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I have not hit any plateaus.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It’s been 5 months since I dropped 30 pounds

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
No

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Now all I eat is veggies, Mediterranean salads lean meats & protein shakes eating 5 to 6 times a day, when before all I was eating was fast food and 2 or 3 meals a day

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I can do a lot more now, walk better, I can take pictures now & not have my feet hurting in just 1 hour of standing

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Change the way you think
  2. get around people who love the gym and a healthy lifestyle it will encourage you to live the same way.
  3. Remind yourself everyday it’s a lifestyle it’s a journey yes but one that does not end
  4. Start of slow because if not you will exhaust all your energy or discourage yourself and want to give up
  5. Trust yourself, trust the process, it will happen when you believe in yourself.
