WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I was pretty much always overweight my entire life I weighed about 210 pounds when I was 12 years old. I was always the chunky one of the family and my weight progress to 260 pounds at the age of 28. I pretty much stuck it out with weight watchers. I made a complete lifestyle change.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I couldn’t go shopping in regular stores, I could barely walk up the flight of stairs, I had asthma which I don’t have anymore!!
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
When my doctor looked at me in his office and told me that I would be a perfect candidate for gastric bypass surgery. I was 40lbs away from 300
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started on a medication called Belviq. It helps by curbing appetite through the brain it is a prescription only medication. I took that for about five months and after that I was continuing with my weight watchers plan that I’ve been always relying on since 2006. My weight always did the yo-yo and the lowest I ever was that I can remember growing up was 170 pounds. I was an emotional eater so it made it worse for me.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started shredding the weight instantaneously. I mean I lost 133 pounds and 15 months. From weighing 260 pounds in March 2014 to hitting my goal weight in May 2015 at 128 pounds. I have now been maintaining my weight ever since. and I am 127 pounds current
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I just did it. Nobody thought I could, but I had the motivation, the desperation, the want to not be morbidly obese.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Nobody thought I could, but I had the motivation, the desperation, the want to not be morbidly obese. I have a five-year-old son at one point I could barely run after him. Now he can’t keep up with mommy !!!
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
No plateaus. I honestly was so dedicated to my weight watchers program that I mean it worked.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I lost the 133 pounds in 15 months!!
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I went from a size 20 In Jeans that were skintight to a size 2 and sometimes a one. My boss size has one from a 42 double D to a 30 4D my waist is a size Swanie fiv Jeans that were skintight to a size 2 and sometimes a one. My bust size has went from a 42 double D to a 34D my waist is 25 inches.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I don’t eat much.. I eat in portions and my stomach has shrunk the amount of food I can intake. I make better choices.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I’m like speedy Gonzales compared to a turtle.
