WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?

I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life. I was just a little girl, age 7. From then over the years my weight spiraled out of control reaching my heaviest of 268 pounds.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I wanted to give up when I gained back 60 pounds in 2012 while I was pregnant with our son. I lost some of the weight from breast feeding but I still kept on a bit and my body was not the same. Especially after getting a C-section which was really discouraging me to get bs k in routine.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I started my weightloss journey in May of 2010. I visited my country Eritrea when I was my heaviest weighing 268 pounds. While I was there I was receiving numerous rude comments and stare everywhere I went, because of the culture it is never rude or “taboo” to call someone fat. I felt like a circus clown. I couldn’t even leave my mothers village and enjoy my stay there. I knew that I had to do something about my weight. During my stay in Eritrea I’ve lost a total of 40 pounds which was a great boost and motivation to lose more weight. It’s took me 2 years to lose 95 pounds following a strict ketosis diet and exercise.

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Commitment: Make a promise to yourself. Do not be discouraged if you don’t see results right away. Great things take time. Even if you’re not seeing change in the mirror or on the scale, there are big changes happening within your body!
  2. No negative self talk: Don’t beat yourself up after a cheat day or cheat meal. We’re all human! Temptation may occur but that doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Stay positive and keep pushing forward.
