WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?

From childhood I’ve even an overweight child and I carried it on till I was 31 years .

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My relationship, work and even how people related to me and how I myself I felt anytime I went to public places the way people looked at me was soo sad .

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
It was one morning when I woke up and suddenly I felt dizzy . Everything turned black and my heart was beating soo fast I thought I was going to die that moment. And I told myself I have to be strong for myself and have a healthy life .

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started by cutting down on my food intake for about a month because my blood pressure was soo high I couldn’t jump on any exercise at that time. Slowly I incorporated vegetables into my diet . Then after a month I started working out with videos on jeannett Jenkins, Billy Blanks, jillian Michael and other fitness videos that I always work out with at home since I had no gym facility in my region of work . I also made sure my time of eating dinner was also checked since I was a late night eater I stopped and by 4pm I don’t eat anything since I eat foods that fills me up and I don’t get hungry at night . Water was my best friend and I didn’t take to any fad diet .after th

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
After 3 months I stepped on the scale and I’d lost 15kg and before that my clothes were getting lose on me but the weight was still the same until I stepped on the scale and saw that amazing results. It motivated me to continue exercising and sticking to the diet. From then it has been a successful journey till now .

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
My main challenge was funds because I had no money to buy dumbbells and other sports wear to motivate me but I improvised by using water bottles and I filled them with sand to make it heavy which I used as dumbbells. Since I was working in a far away place my only support came from me and my alone .But it didn’t stop me from exercising everyday of the week I kept going till now .

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I’ve never and won’t ever want to give up the results is soo inspiring I’m always trying to do more and more each passing day.

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Yes it got to a point I was stucked at 70kg and the weight didn’t go of for months . Through reading of weightloss success stories I found a new term which most of the people used during their weight loss plateau that is HIIT workout. I started doing hiit and within a few months I started seeing results again .

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It took me 1 year to lose the weight and still hopping to lose more since it’s a gradual process I undertook for my journey.

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
It’s simple and healthy now compared to how I used to eat before.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I’m very strong , healthy and have lots of energy now . I engage in lots of physical activities that I couldn’t before when I was heavy . Now I join my students in most of the sporting activities with soo much energy.

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Don’t lose weight for anyone lose it for yourself. This will keep you motivated always.
  2. Eat a healthy diet something you can still continue all your life . No fad diet since it will not help in the long run .
  3. Set realistic goals and work towards them . The result is much better when it’s slow and rewarding.
  4. Portion control is any dieters best friend you can eat anything but the quantity must be checked and controlled.
  5. Exercise smart but effectively.
